Things I never want to forget #41-#45

All Gabey

41. Few things Gabe says that I love:
  • Nakin (napkin)
  • Fivety (fifty) and Fiveteen (fifteen)
  • Cut it out (my dad says this)
  • Sumpin (something)
  • He says her where he should be saying she. it's cute
  • Picture me/us mama
42. After finishing his superhero Popsicle Gabe asked me to read the joke on the stick. It said "What kind of flower gives the best kisses?" Gabe answered "YOU MAMA!" LOVE that feeling

43. Into knock knock jokes. They don't make any sense but boy does he think they're hilarious which actually makes it really funny.

44. Wanting to know if things and people are real (Cartoon characters, God, animals, etc.)

45. Gabe's been sneezing all day today. I said to Bryan "I think he's got a cold." Not knowing he was listening to me he says, "No I don't. It's sneezing day today. Some days are sneezing days. Some days are tooting days...ya know. "Bryan said "no everyday is tootin' day" ;)
Poor kid was so tired tonight and not feeling good he was melting down over everything. I could have put him down at 6:30. At about 6:50 I took Jayce out and daddy laid with him and he was out by 7:15. My poor guy.

Things I never want to forget #35-#40

ALL JAYCE

35. Gabe and I were gone all day, May 2nd. Bryan was home with Jayce. He worked with him on turning around to go down the stairs. It's too cute for words how he crawls to the top of the stairs, goes flat on his belly and scoots around to slide down on his belly. NOW even though he does this, I by no means leave him alone...just saying. ;)

36. Jayce loves these rings. When we get down to play they are one of the first things he goes for. I never want to forget how he crawls around the house with them in his hands.

37. Bittersweet feeling. We're done nursing. He's pretty much weaned himself. He's more interested in what we eat. I had a love/hate relationship with nursing. I really disliked it at first and then I actually ended up really liking it. I'm a little sad, but feel ok about it at the same time.

38. Jayce wasn't feeling well for Janell's birthday party on June 16th. He had a slight fever and just looked awful. At dinner I noticed a little white tooth poking out on the upper left and it all made sense. Jayce beat Gabe by two months and it's funny to me because they both got the upper front teeth before the bottom.
Poor little man is popping them out quick now too because Bryan noticed the top right cut this last Monday and I see a little white one peaking on the bottom left.

39. He's been cruising for a while now and he'll stand not holding onto anything for a good amount of time. He took his first two steps for Aunt Julie on Tuesday the 21st and took four for me the next day. I was SO excited I scared the poor fellow.

40. Jayce gets really excited when daddy gets home. He smiles really big, screams, throws is head down and charges for him. He looks like a bull dog with his big paws kinda turned in. It's the cutest thing ever!

Things I never want to forget #29-#34

29. Mom and I took the boys to their dr appointments and afterward we hung out with the HofAshi's. After Jayce and Audrey's naps Janell brought in the little pool full of balls and we had a ball fight. We had SO much fun and laughed a lot. Jayce thought we were all crazy.

30. On the way home on a sunny/rainy evening we saw a rainbow. Gabe said "look mommy the rainbow is reaching all the way up to God."

31. I LOVE their relationship right now
Gabe - "Look, we're holding hands"
32. Bryan was gone and I finished feeding Jayce his dinner. Left him in his chair and put on a Baby Einstein. I was getting Gabe some (late) dinner. Jayce was whining in his chair so I thought maybe he wanted to get down and play. I took him out, set him on the floor and he put his head down and sobbed. I picked him up and cradled him and he fell asleep immediately. Words can not even express how cute it was. My poor baby was SO tired. I wish that I could have snuggled him forever.

33. Jayce is purposely hunting down/chasing Gabe. He totally understands that it's a game. It's hilarious. He crawls super fast at him, then when Gabe runs past him (both of them screaming like little girls) he turns around and pursues him in the other direction.

34. Bryan was reading Gabe books tonight. Our normal bedtime routine. We read a childrens' Bible to him every night. Tonight they read about the angel appearing to the shepard's to tell them that Christ was born. Gabe started asking questions about the angel and why the shepard's were so happy. Bryan explained that Jesus was the Savior and that he came to save us so that we could live with him in Heaven and not in Hell. Then he asked "What's Hell?" Bryan tried to explain in 4 yr old terms the difference between Heaven and Hell. Gabe said "I don't want to live there" Bryan told him that the only way to live with Jesus in Heaven and with mommy and daddy was to ask Jesus into your heart, love Him and have a relationship with him. He responded saying "well I love Jesus right now" Bryan asked him if he wanted to ask Jesus into his heart and he said yes. When he realized he was going to have to pray he got embarrassed and didn't want to pray. We told him that it was ok and that when he was ready we would help him pray. This was kind of the first conversation where he showed more interest after asking questions and seemed to understand better.

Things I never want to forget #24-#28

24. Gabe-isms:
Obie One Kenobi - Kobe Nobe
R2D2 - Arty D2
Something - sumpin
Thirsty - fursty

25. The boys and I were at my mom and dads for dinner. Mom and dad came home from a meeting and my mom was crying. I don't know about Jaden, but Gabe has never seen my mom cry. They both were SO concerned. Gabe walked up to her and asked her why she was upset and Jaden went upstairs to get his Lamby for her. It was the sweetest thing ever. Grandma is so loved.

26. We were on our way to the New Years Eve hockey game and dad asked me if I had the cash for parking. Gabe said "NO mama doesn't have any gas!"

27. Gabe has started laughing with a snort. It's on purpose but pretty darn funny.

28. Jayce is sitting on his own. Big boy!

Things I never want to forget #19-#23

19. Jayce rolled over from tummy to back on Oct. 12th. and from back to tummy on Dec. 3rd.

20. After praying at bed time Gabe said he was scared of the dark (which was a little weird. Never has bothered him before). Bryan told him that he can pray to Jesus and ask Him to help him not be scared of the dark. Gabe responded "BUT He's SO far awayyyyyy" Bryan said "No He's in our hearts." in which Gabe looked down at his chest concerned and said "I don't want Him in my heart I want to get Him out!" How do you explain to a 3.5 yr old that He's not actually PHYSICALLY in his heart. So Bryan just said "well He's here with us always and you can pray to him anytime".

21. During Sunday school class Julie was teaching and they all sat down on their carpet scares. Julie said to the class "Ok class we have a new helper today, can you all say Hi to Pam?" Everyone said quietly "Hi Pam!" Gabe said more loudly "HI HAMMMMMM" Gabe thinking "NO wait that's my Grandma!"

22. I absolutely LOVE that Jayce sits and stares with his mouth open. Even if there is a ton of drool pouring out. :)

23. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of baby breath! I wish I could bottle it up.

Things I never want to forget #14-#18

14. When I was pregnant with Jayce, Gabe woke up from his nap and said he wanted to watch a movie. I said no and he climbed up in my lap and snuggled with me for a while. After about 10 min or so he said "Hey Mommy, the baby is talking" I said "oh yeah what is he saying?" to which he replied "he wants to watch a movie"

15. We were getting into the truck (Sep 10th) and Gabe said "hey Mommy look at those clouds...I want to go into the sky above the clouds and see Jesus!"

16. Gabe hasn't been able to pronounce words that begin with L . He says:
  • Love = Wove
  • Lily = Wilwy
  • Like = Wike
  • Lots = Wots
  • Lion = Wion
  • Ladybug = Wadybug

17. Jayce loves the little monkey decal on the wall next to his changing table. He talks to it and smiles SO big. It is the cutest thing ever.

18. Almost every time Jayce sneezes he follows it with an "Ah"

Things I never want to forget #9-#13

9. Gabe and I went on a ton of movie dates at the Mt. Hood Theater matinee program. It was so much fun. We got to go to a few with Diane and Joel and the Duffy's. At one of our last dates he got to have his Skittles for a treat. When he told daddy about it he said that he got to have Skiggles.

10. Gabe was in the shower and one of the bottles was upside down. Gabe said to me "Mama, this bottle is upside down I need to turn it right side up."

11. We were driving in the truck and Gabe had hiccups. He had them the whole time we were driving. When we got to our destination he sighed and said "these hiccups are making me tired"

12. Mother's Day morning we got ready for church and were heading out the door. Bryan was putting Gabe's shoes on and he looked at me, looked down and back up at me again and said "Mommy, you have pretty lips!" I rarely wear colored lip gloss or lip stick these days and I had put some on. Made my morning for sure!!!!

13. Lately, Gabe has been saying "Ah Nuts" when I say "no" to something or he drops something. It's sounds funny coming from a 3 year old and we have NO clue where he got it from. Bryan and I never say that. lol

Things I never want to forget #5-#8

5. Gabe woke up from his nap saying that there were crickets in his bed.

6. As I was getting Gabe ready for bed one night he was eating a cracker and he asked me if what he was eating was a sandwich and I said no it's a cracker and he said "ARE YOU sure mommy?"

7. When Gabe wants to sit on my lap he says "I sip or wrap, mommy"

8. Gabe and I were out on a beautiful sunny day and he starts growling and putting his hands over his eyes. I asked him if he was ok and he said "NOOOO, the sun won't stop looking at me!"

Things I never want to forget: #1-4

I got this idea from a friend of a friend. There are so many things that happen during the day that I never want to forget. The little things, big things...days fly by so quickly and Gabe is doing so many funny, big boy things that I want to ALWAYS remember.

1. Every morning Gabe will ask me "All done with shower mommy?" when I'm in our bathroom getting ready.

2. If we tell Gabe no or do something he doesn't like he'll sometimes cross his arms and SIGH a huge sigh. It's hilarious!

3. We went to the mall and were walking through Macy's home store. Gabe looked at one of the beds that had a breakfast tray on it with a teapot, cup and saucer. He looked at me and said "look mommy a tea party" Don't have any clue how he knows about tea parties. lol

4. Every time I open the truck door to get Gabe out he is waiting and pretending to be asleep/ snoring with this little grin on his face. I absolutely LOVE it!
