What a week

This past week has been busy so far! Sunday was a pretty good day! It was my mom’s birthday…HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
I woke up with a horrible pain in my left side. I could barely roll out of bed and I went to go to the bathroom and doubled over the pain was so bad. I just figured that the little guy was over on that side maybe pushing or something? But the pain wouldn’t go away and I couldn’t see him doing it that long. Bryan and I left a tad early to stop at Safeway. I got a coffee and a muffin and I wanted to pick up some flowers for my mom. We found a VERY pretty purple bouquet. I knew that she would love it because it would match her living room and dinning room. They also smelled really good! I made it through the store and back into the car. The pain seemed to subside when I was sitting down. We got to church around 9 and my parents were already there. I was glad I wanted to give mom the flowers because I knew that she was leaving after first service. Well, I got out of the car and could barely walk to the church. The only way that I felt ok was doubled over or sitting in a chair. Bryan went to his JR High room to get it heated up. It was cold that morning and his little room/garage thing doesn’t warm up very well, plus the windows are all broken so the heat just gets sucked out. The church has used that room since before I was in Jr High. It was originally a garage that they made it into a room and it needs some MAJOR fixing up! One of the Jr Highers sent in for a room makeover to one of those shows on HGTV. They never heard anything back on that though. Bryan has put in a couple requests to the accountant at the church for some things to get fixed. They are all miserable out there in that room.
Anyway, I somehow made my way to the office and it was full of people. Church was busy that morning. I was getting a little worried about the pain though and Bryan asked if we should go in, but I wasn’t sure? I gave my mom the flowers and she liked them a lot. She was helping out someone type something up on her computer and other people were filing in asking her to do other stuff. I told her about my pain and she said that she would take me in. I of course was hesitant just because I hate going into the ER and finding out that NOTHING is wrong and then you have a wonderful bill for it. Everyone that came into the office said that I should be better safe then sorry and go in and make sure that everything was ok. The little guy was moving a lot that morning. We decided that I would go in. Bryan came into the church to find out if we were going and I said yeah mom is going to take me since you have JR High. He probably could have gotten out of doing Jr High that morning to take me, but mom was available to take me so it was all good. We told Bryan to make sure that he grabbed my dad before leaving church otherwise he would have been stranded there and we left. I went into the ER and told them my issue and I guess that PG women over 18 weeks get sent up to the maternity ward just in case. So they wheeled me up there and mom was still trying to park. I told the people to tell her where they took me and then again at the front desk up in the maternity ward. They put me in a small room and I went into the bathroom to pee in a cup for them. When I came out mom was in the room and sitting in the chair. The nurse was very nice. Asked me a bunch of questions and listened to the baby’s heartbeat and then hooked me up to make sure that I wasn’t having contractions. Which, THANK GOD I wasn’t. They took my blood pressure and it was high. I ended up staying there longer because of that. I had to wait quietly in 15 minute increments and then they would take my BP again. So the pain ended up being the round ligaments stretching. She told me that they are really small when you’re not pregnant and then as your uterus gets bigger they stretch and get longer and sometimes pain comes with that. I must just be one of those women who get the pain really bad? They called my doctor and he wasn’t that concerned about my BP so they sent me home. It was a little after 11 and I probably could have gone back to church but I kind of just wanted to take it easy so I went back to my mom’s house with her. Julie and Janell were there with Jaden. Julie had to get ready so I got to hold Jaden. I love to kiss his little head. I could just eat him up.

Teresa called me around 12 I think and said that Nate would call me to tell me when to head over to their house. We hung up and she ended up calling me back and saying that there might be a change of plans that K got up early that morning and was acting like she was ready for a nap sooner. So T got her down and I headed over to watch K so that T and Nate could go over to Dianne’s for lunch and going through her dads stuff. When I got there they left and K was down for her nap. I laid down in their VERY comfy leather recliner and fell asleep myself. K woke up around 2:10 I think getting almost 2 hours of sleep. She was crying and she kept saying that her monkey was on the floor. I waited a couple of minutes just to make sure that she was in fact awake and went upstairs to get her. I picked her up got her blanket, but left her monkey on the floor so we had to go back and get him. We went downstairs and I held her for a little bit and told her that mommy and daddy had to go somewhere but that they would be back. I asked her if she wanted lunch and she said yes. In fact it was a very intense yes. I gave her the cheese and yogurt and she kept dipping her cheese into the yogurt. I noticed her doing that as I was heating up her noodles. SO cute! She ate all of her cheese and started to feed herself the yogurt, but Aunt Jenny helped her out a little bit. She ate very well…all of her cheese, yogurt and noodles and she had 3-4 big bites of applesauce too. At one point I was helping her eat her yogurt and applesauce and I had said something about the spoon and she told me that I could borrow her poon but that I couldn’t take her poon home. After lunch we got cleaned up and we put in a movie. She wanted the duck movie. So I put that one in for her. I think it was a variety of Looney Tunes episodes and she ended up telling me that she didn’t want to watch them anymore because they were scary. She had her hands over her ears. So we ended up putting in the Elmo movie…I can’t remember what it was called though? During the movie she got out all of her books and proceeded to read them all to me. She was doing SO well. I asked her if I could see one of the books that she was reading and she was basically reading the story to me. I was shocked. At one point she asked me if I liked Elephants and I told her they weren’t my favorite but that the baby elephant in the book was pretty cute. She then told me that she would get me one on Tuesday.
OH I forgot at lunch when we were sitting at the table and she was eating she was trying to tell me something and I couldn’t understand her and finally she just looked at me like I was stupid and said “HONEEEEEY” then said what it was she said again. I didn’t catch what she said again because I was laughing so hard. She was VERY frustrated that I didn’t understand her the first time. We had such a good time! I love hanging out with her! Teresa called me I think around 5 and said that they were pretty much finished going through the stuff and that Nate or her would come get Kam to go back over there because they were just hanging out and going to have dessert.

I had driven my parents van over to Nate and Teresa’s because I had to leave before Bryan and my dad got home. They came over later to switch vehicles and my dad took Bryan home. I ended up going back over to my parent’s house to spend time with my mom. As it turned out her, Julie and Janell went shopping and so I went up to my bed and took another nap until she got home. Well they didn’t end up getting home till around 7:30 and I was wanting to get home to get things ready for the work week so I didn’t really end up getting to spend a ton of time with her. Guess it was good that she went to the dr’s with me because we got to talk there. When I got home Bryan had just finished the baby’s closet and was cleaning everything up.

Here is a picture of the closet. I don’t have a before picture, which I wish I did because it looks 10 times better. Bryan did a good job.

Monday was an OK day! Work was busy of course but I think that I am finally catching up. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I don’t want the days to go slow and for me to just sit there twirling my thumbs waiting for something to do is torture. Bryan picked me up and we stopped at Safeway to get prescriptions before going home. What’s new though…I feel like I live at Safeway and that I am ALWAYS picking up prescriptions. We pick up two and then tomorrow we have two more to renew! I feel like an old person that needs one of those M-F pill reminder things.
When we got home we had left over pizza for dinner and I had some work that I needed to get finished to make up the last couple hours of time off I took on the snow day. Bryan was really tired so he ended up going to bed around 9:15 and I joined him around 10.

I feel like my body is falling apart. My right eye feels bruised, like someone punched me in the eye. I don’t know what I did? And the last few days when I eat/chew my jaw is clicking VERY badly on the left side. It feels like it’s ripping the inside of my ear apart and that I should have blood gushing out of my ear. I don’t know what the heck is up with that or if I should talk to my dentist or my doctor about it. It FREAKING hurts though!!!!! I have to chew very slowly and it’s annoying.

Tuesday was Bryan’s Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUG! When we were getting ready for work Calie and I went into the closet. Bryan asked “what are you doing?” and I told him that we were having a meeting and he said “OOOOOOH KAAAAAAY!” and started brushing his teeth. I took my card to him and gave it to Calie, opened the door and told her to take the card to daddy. She wiggled her way over to him and gave him the card. It was SO stinkin cute and Bryan LOVED it!

I got off at 4 and rode the train to 172nd where my mom picked me up.
(Another bonus if there is one to riding public transportation. Our company went from us having to buy our ticket, submit our receipt and wait to get reimbursed TO the company paying for monthly tickets and passing them out to us (no more reimbursement plan) TO Annual passes. I am SO excited! I don’t have to worry if I have a ticket when I’m riding etc. I can just get on and I have my badge.) We went to pick up Julie and Jaden at the apartment and we went to Francis Xavier’s for dinner. We call it FX! Nathan was at my parents house washing his car so him and my dad met us there. Julie took Jaden to his appointment on Monday and they said that she could take him to a low key restaurant. She asked if they could go with it being my mom’s b-day dinner. SO Jaden went on his first little outing and did really well I might add. I’m still having issues with my jaw so I was the last one to be done with dinner (you think I was a slow eater before). After dinner Nathan and my dad took me home. I fed and let Calie out, changed my clothes, got the cake Bryan picked up for my mom at Beaverton Bakery out of the fridge and Calie and I went over to my parents. Calie had been in her crate WAY too long…UGH...I hate that! We had a little party for my mom and then when Bryan got out of class he came over and we had a little party for him. I think next year we’re going to split it up? I am totally wiped out from staying up WAY too late last night. I mean Bryan didn’t even get to my parents house until 10. I am already ready for this week to be over so that I can rest this weekend, take naps etc.

MY LITTLE SISTER GOT ASKED OUT ON A DATE!
My mom and I went to Target a while back and we were getting film developed where Janell was working that day and we were talking to her and all of the sudden this guy Jacob that works with her yelled “HI JANELL!” He asked her something else too but I can’t remember, but I told my mom that he liked her. You could tell on his face. Well it took him awhile but he asked her to coffee last week, but I guess never did anything about it so Janell was sort of bummed, but then he went through her line to buy something on a day that he wasn’t working and asked her to a movie and for her phone number. He wanted to take her out last night but she told him that we were having a b-day party for my mom and Bryan so she couldn’t. He called her last night when he got off work and left her a message. We all gave her flack! She was so embarrassed. Hehe I can’t wait to see how this goes.

Some updates on Bryan’s job.

Bryan asked Eric (his boss) on Monday about applying for other positions and he said to go ahead. It is better to have the option versus not. There are some other production artists jobs open at Nike…even though Bryan would love to stay where he is and work under Eric. They work really well together. He said they have some good news from the Trek side of things. They will definitely pay our salaries through June 1st which gives them some breathing room on trying to figure out if Nike cycling will be supported or not. AND yesterday they actually extended that to December 31st 2007 so that is good!

We got some even BETTER news about Bryan’s job!!!!!

He got this email on Wednesday…

Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for…

FANTASTIC NEWS!!! I just got off the phone with Charlie and he, Mark, and Trevor support our desire to go after the cycling business with a more concerted, focused effort than Nike has done in the past. They've agreed to move forward with the business model option we recommended to them, which involves owning our own design, development, and marketing resources to execute the business. This means that we have the opportunity for the first time to build a dedicated team to make Nike Cycling a success. I think this is the best way to truly leverage the talent we have and the opportunity that lays before us.

This means we have a lot to accomplish and we need to begin laying out strategies for how we will execute. I will set up a meeting for next week to get things kick started. I appreciate your patience during this decision making process and look forward to building the most talented Nike Cycling team in history!

Feel free to give me a call if you have questions.

Thanks

Bryan came home and gave me some sad news on Thursday. Nike reversed their decision. SO that means Bryan has a job until June 1st.

I have felt depressed all night...on the verge of tears...just dealing with some family issues that I have no control over and when I got home I started laundry (Thursday's are laundry night) and was looking for something to eat for dinner. When I looked into the fridge it was so nasty I ended up pulling everything out and cleaning the fridge and freezer out. It was very much in need of a good deep clean. Good therepy for me when I'm feeling down is to clean and organize. The problem is still there when I'm done but it helps me feel a little better and stuff gets cleaned. ;o)
I didn't end up starting dinner until 8. I talked to Moo on the phone for a little bit while I was making dinner and running in between loads of laundry. Bryan got home from class...we both sat down to eat (I made chicken stir-fry with white rice). We prayed, I started eating, Bryan gave me the news and I broke down. Couldn't help it...

Bryan spent Thursday working on his resume. He has to start looking for a new job.:o(
