Baby 8w
Bryan and I arrived at 9:15 and checked in. They told us that my doctor was running a little behind because he had a deliverythat morning. We waited probably a half hour before being called back. Michelle my nurse weighed me. I actually weighed less than I thought I would. We then walked to the room and she said we are going to do an ultrasound today. That was very exciting to me because I really wanted to know that everything was ok. She took my blood pressure which was pretty normal. 112/86. Michelle talked our ears off. She was so excited for us! she was always asking me when we were going to start a family so she was happy. :o) It was hard to take everything she was saying in. She finally said ok I'm leaving because I'm probably overwhelming you. hehe I had to undress from the waist down and we waited for the doctor. When he came in he said congratulations and had me lie back on the table. He first tried to get a picture through my my stomach but it's too early so he used the probe. The picture was pretty clear except the baby looked more like a blob as you can see. But it's a beautiful blob! As soon as he moved the probe around he was able to get the heart beating. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Bryan was standing next to me rubbing my arm. He was smiling from ear to ear. The little heart was beating so fast. He measured the baby and we also could hear the baby's heartbeat too. It measured out to be 1.57 cm and the BPM was 171 a good strong heartbeat. It was so fast! It all feels SO real now and I feel so much better getting to see that our little one is doing ok. We went down to the lab and they drew a bunch of blood and I did a urine test. This is probably one of the most exciting adventures God is taking us on. I am so excited!

Anniversary weekend getaway
Our weekend went really well. We worked all day on Friday instead of getting off early. I regretted that but oh well. We went home and packed up the truck, got dinner, got gas and hit the road. We got on the road a lot later then I wanted too so we didn’t get to the beach until 9:30. As soon as we got to the blinking light to go into town, Calie sat up and started sniffing like crazy and she got excited. I think she knew we were at the beach. We checked in and unloaded the truck. We took Calie out to go to the bathroom and we went to bed around midnight.
I have to tell you we are pretty lazy when we go away for our anniversary. Our first anniversary we pretty much stayed in the hotel the whole time. We had a kitchen at that one so we could make our meals and we watched movies, took naps and watched a marathon of Road Rules. We did go to the beach and we ate at the pub there but we love just being together and getting all the R&R we can get.
Saturday morning we got up and took showers and got ready. It was a beautiful day on Saturday. The sun was out and it was a little windy. Perfect if you ask me. We walked to the beach and as we started on the path, Calie was pretty much leaping to get there. She just loves the beach. There weren’t that many people on the beach but we saw some people riding horses and a lot of people were driving up and down the beach. It was almost like they were on a hwy. Calie stayed clear of the cars, which was good but we let her run around and catch the ball. She went into the water of course. We brought towels so we were more than prepared for that.[tu] After we played around there for a while we went back to the room and took naps, watched TV and read a little bit. At around 4 we drove into town, parked and walked around. We didn’t really go into any shops for one because we had Calie and two we weren’t going to buy anything anyway. We got some waters (because I forgot to bring water) and walked along the boardwalk. We were going to go walk on the beach again but there were just way too many cars on it. My mom mentioned later that this is usually the time of year that they do that a lot. We window shopped some more, got some dinner to go and went back to the room. Overall the room was pretty small but it had a little table that we were able to eat at. We got yummy hamburgers and fries. After we ate we walked to the beach by the hotel and watched the sun set. We threw the ball for Calie to ware her out and talked as the sun set. There were clouds out but the sky was a pretty pink and it’s just so amazing. I have always LOVED going to the beach. I think it’s my MOST favorite place! The ocean that goes on forever, the sky, the sand…BEAUTIFUL!
We went back to the room and hung out. Watched a movie and I fell asleep around 10. Bryan said that he stayed up till around Midnight. He had a pretty bad cold so he wasn’t feeling all that well but we had a lot of fun.
Sunday morning we woke up to a light drizzle that turned into pouring down rain. The room was just so small so we decided to pack up and go home. We got McDonald’s breakfast on the way out. It rained the whole way home but it wasn’t too bad of a drive. When we got home we unpacked, put everything away, gave Calie a bath, started laundry and hung out. Nathan’s (my BIL) birthday was Saturday and Julie was throwing him a party that evening at 5:30. I made this chili dip and we headed over. It was my family and his. It was a pretty good party. We ate, played Bungo (Bryan was the LOOOSER and Seth was the WEINER), Nate opened his gifts and we had pie for dessert. It was a nice end to the weekend!
